Location: La Cinta, a narrow, long golden sandy beach washed by deep blue crystal clear sea, Cala Brandinchi, a white coastline and waters usually found only in tropical paradises, not renamed Tahiti for nothing, Lu Impostu, its natural continuation, the beautiful Marina di Puntaldìa with its modern tourist port and the Caribbean scenario of S'Isuledda. These are the typical beaches of San Teodoro, a famous tourist center, particularly popular with young people for its lively summer movida, which also has other renowned coastal pearls to offer: Not to be missed during a visit are Cala Ginepro, a cove scented with Mediterranean scrub, the beach Coda Cavallo, which offers a breathtaking view of the magnificent island of Tavolara, and its marine reserve Cala Ghjlgolu. Here, the most striking feature is a rock sculpted by the wind and the sea, whose shape resembles a turtle and is a natural spectacle particularly popular with children. Less famous, but equally beautiful are: Baia Salinedda, Cala d'Ambra, Cala Suaraccia, Li Corri di Li Becchi, Li Marini and Seghefusti. This spectacular scenery is completed by the lagoon of San Teodoro, located behind the beaches, where the pink flamingos like to settle in the migration season and where the stilt is resident. The ideal place for walks and birdwatching.
The village is known in Gallura as Santu Diàdoru and has a little less than 5,000 inhabitants in winter, but in the summer months it is animated by tens of thousands of tourists. The village was founded in the 17th century in the immediate hinterland on the eastern slopes of the mountain Nieddu, when shepherds and fishermen settled here this beautiful piece of land, where, however, there have been settlements since prehistoric times.
