Location: The world-famous Three Peaks and the Dolomite landscape of Helm and Rotwand make Sesto a popular vacation destination.
In the uppermost Hochpustertal extends the spot whose photos go around the world: It is Sesto against the backdrop of the Three Peaks. The municipality stretches from the main town of St. Veit up to the Kreuzberg Pass, with small hamlets such as Außerbauerschaft, Außerberg, Kiniger and Mitterberg with its fortress in between. The mountain village of Moos is well known with Bad Moos, one of those historic spas that attracted guests from all over the world in the 19th and 20th centuries. It forms the entrance to the Fiscalina Valley, which attracts many for its natural beauty.
The mountains above Sesto form the largest stone sundial in the world and were named accordingly: Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve and One show the exact time at the winter solstice. In between, the peaks of Helm, Rotwand and Co. are enthroned, inviting you to excursions in summer and to the ski slopes in winter. High up in this Dolomite landscape, via ferratas wind through the rock faces, alpinists climb the highest mountain in the municipality, the Dreischusterspitze, and those who can, circle the magical Drei Zinnen. Amidst the alpine meadows there are also many a family adventure: Italy's largest herd of reindeer makes itself at home at the Rudi Hut and the Rotwandwiesen.
Back in the valley you have the choice between pleasure, culture and activities in the fresh air: The two museums are joined by the Stoneman Trails for mountain bikers, the open-air swimming pool and the cross-country trails between the individual villages. Every year the most beautiful spots host the Pustertal Ski Marathon, one of the three major cross-country skiing competitions in the region. Skiers and snowboarders are attracted to the ski region 3 Zinnen Dolomites: Crossing the border, there are five ski mountains from Braies to Sesto, to the Kreuzberg Pass and to the Bellunese Val Comelico.

The 3 Peaks Nature Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites) covers an area of over 11,000 hectares distributed among the municipalities of San Candido, Sesto and Dobbiaco. The Nature Park is the northeastern part of the Dolomites and is bordered to the north by the Puster Valley, to the east by the Sesto Valley, to the south by the border with Belluno and to the west by the Cave Valley.
The nature park impresses with its outstanding landscapes and Dolomite peaks, above all the world-famous 3 Peaks. Mountaineers from near and far have performed pioneering mountaineering feats here from the second half of the 19th century. Today, alpinists from all over the world demonstrate their skills on the vertical walls of this mountain group.
The 3 Peaks Nature Park has been a Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009 and is part of the Europe-wide Natura 2000 network of protected areas, which primarily aims to protect habitats and wild animal and plant species.
