Location: Tesero (German: Teser im Fleimstal) is an Italian municipality (comune) with 2999 inhabitants in the province of Trento in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. It belongs to the Comunità territoriale della Val di Fiemme.
The village lies at 1000 meters above sea level on the orographic right side of the Val di Fiemme above the valley floor at the mouth of the Stava Valley, through which the Rio Stava flows into the Val di Fiemme. Tesero extends at the foot of the Monti Cornacci 2166 m, which belong to the Fiemme Valley Alps.
The hamlet of Lago with the Lago di Tesero cross-country skiing center lies to the south on the valley floor of the Fiemme Valley. The other two districts, Stava and the Alpe di Pampeago ski area at the foot of the Latemar group, are both located to the north of Tesero in the Stava Valley. To the north, the municipality borders directly on the South Tyrolean municipality of Deutschnofen, which can be reached via the Passo di Pramadiccio (1413 m) and the Lavazèjoch (1808 m). Other neighboring municipalities are Predazzo, Varena, Panchià, Cavalese and Pieve Tesino.
Tesero belongs to the valley municipality of Fleims, which was founded in the 12th century. Between 1918 and 1963, the village had a station on the Val di Fiemme railroad.
