Property description Your "Agriturismo" with oil and wine production on Monte Amiata - Tuscany
For this estate, situated on the southern foothills of Monte Amiata and covering around 25 hectares, the plan is to build and realize a modern permaculture business as a crisis-proof retreat in one of the most charming areas of Tuscany.
The preferred option for this project is a partnership, which could later be converted into sole ownership if desired. In this case, too, the vendor and partner would be happy to advise the new owners with their knowledge and experience.
The location of the property at around 600m near the beautiful village of Roccalbegna, embedded in nature reserves, offers optimal conditions for vineyards, olives, cereals and sustainable agriculture in general. The wonderful tranquillity and the unobstructable panoramic position with unique views ensure a very special lifestyle for all lovers of unspoiled nature.
The existing buildings, used by the previous owners as an "agriturismo", would be available to the future partners almost in their entirety. These are six residential units that guarantee privacy and can still be partly designed according to the individual ideas of the future users. Three of these units will be fully usable in summer 2024.
Around 700 productive olive trees produce first-class oil. Planting rights are available for the creation of vineyards!
Well-developed paths tempt you to explore the surrounding area on foot, on horseback or by bike. Nearby destinations include the thermal baths of Saturnia, Monte Amiata and the Tuscan coast.
Do you have any questions about the possible implementation of this project, your own ideas and would you like to see for yourself the potential of the products that will be created here in the future? Please let us know. Numerous awards and gold medals at international tastings and competitions prove that we are able to produce unique, individual and, above all, terroir- and variety-specific wines and olive oils.
Benefit from local partners! We look forward to receiving your specific inquiry.
Location: The medieval town of Roccalbegna is a small village that looks as if it has stepped out of a fantasy novel. A bold fortress on a gigantic boulder towers over the handful of houses that make up the settlement. The difference in size between the village and the rock actually gives the viewer the feeling of being in front of a dragon and the treasure it protects.
The small and charming village was an ancient possession of the Aldobrandeschi family, whose ownership then passed to the Republic of Siena. It later became the fortress of the Medici family on Monte Amiata and then belonged to the County of Santa Fiora. It was not until the 18th century that Roccalbegna became a free municipality of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Places of interest in Roccalbegna
The castle of Roccalbegna is well worth a stroll. Among its alleyways, you can also admire historical testimonies of the great artists that have been left here over the course of time.
The town's most famous monument is certainly the fascinating church Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, located in the central square of the small settlement, which is also overlooked by the town hall and the small but impressive Torre Civica (a tower with a clock). The notoriously unstable soil in the area often triggers small landslides. The church itself, with its strikingly crooked door frame, bears witness to this phenomenon, making the building look so crooked and peculiar. Inside, frescoes and valuable paintings can be admired. The most important of these is an altarpiece with a Madonna and Child, painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in 1340.
Behind the church is the Oratorio del Crocifisso, which has been converted into a museum. Francesco Nasini and Sebastiano Folli are the artists most represented in the Pinacoteca. You can also admire a magnificent cross by Luca di Tommè, which the Sienese artist created around 1360.
