Property description Historic vacation home with garden and soul for rent in Montisi / Montalcino - Tuscany
The vacation home is located in the historic center of Montisi, surrounded by a picturesque Mediterranean garden (400 m2). Its origins date back to the 14th century and over the course of time it has undergone numerous transformations - from a place for pharmaceutical production in the 19th century to the residence of a banking family. This diversity is reflected in the architecture and aesthetics of the house, which has been carefully restored to preserve its authentic character. Old beams, original doors, antique bathroom fittings and terracotta floors have been uncovered and complemented with artistic frescoes from the 19th century, which adorn the rooms magnificently. The Graniglia floors from the 1930s have been lovingly restored and complement the warm oak parquet flooring, which was used where the terrazzo could not be restored.
The historic house offers five spacious double rooms on two floors, each with its own bathroom and a breathtaking view over the Tuscan countryside. The common areas, such as the living room, the study with fireplace, the library, the communal kitchen and the dining room, invite you to linger and relax. Each room tells its own story and identity, which is emphasized by carefully selected antique furniture and lamps that have been harmoniously combined with modern design. The result is a fascinating dialog between past and present, art and history, reflecting the unique landscape of the Crete Senesi.
