Property description Restored "palazzo" from the 14th century in Rutino in the province of Salerno - Campania

This "palazzo" from the Norman period, the oldest part of which dates back to 1300, once served as the residence of Prince Sanseverino. In 2000, it was restored in all its parts through a careful "conservative restoration". The palace is located in the center of the village of Rutino (SA), the heart of Cilento, just 1 km from the castle of Rocca Cilento, 15 minutes from the nearest beach in Agropoli, 20 minutes from the archaeological excavations and temples in Paestum and 40 minutes from Acciaroli. It can also be reached in an hour from Salerno or Palinuro. Access is via two entrances, Via Roma and Via Garibaldi, and extends over four levels.
The "Palazzo" has a garage, a tavern, a fitness room, a wine cellar, a room with a stone mill and spacious outdoor areas of exclusive property. A roof terrace on the main square of the village offers a picturesque view. The use of unique and precious materials such as terracotta from Ogliara, perfectly restored original wooden doors and furniture, stone walls and architectural masterpieces such as the spiral staircase made of wood, steel and glass give the building a special touch.
The building houses a library and spacious lounges. In the sleeping area there are four large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, spacious communal rooms and three kitchens, one of which is equipped with a wood-burning stove in the garden. There are a total of four fireplaces, ornate cast iron railings and a Norman portal dating back to 1300. The restoration of the plastered facades was carried out in 2022 with lime putty products, while the stone parts are perfectly preserved.
The current owner, who is moving to another location, has left the property perfectly usable in all parts and ready for immediate occupancy. Cilento, in southern Campania, is characterized by enchanting natural landscapes, from coastal beaches to hills and forests. The National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni offers ideal opportunities for hiking and trekking. The region is rich in history, from ancient ruins such as Paestum to the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula. The culinary tradition reflects the best of Mediterranean cuisine, based on fish, olive oil and local produce. Picturesque villages such as Castellabate contribute to the authentic flair of Cilento, which has been recognized by UNESCO for its beauty and sustainable use of resources.
